Avianca, a leading airline in Latin America, is expanding its international network with a new nonstop service between Dallas, Texas, and Bogotá, Colombia.
This route, set to operate four times weekly, strengthens ties between the two nations and enhances travel options for passengers.
The service is part of Avianca’s broader strategy to increase connectivity, offering 19 direct routes from Colombia to nine U.S. cities by June 2025, with over 170 weekly flights during the peak travel season.
Commitment to Key U.S. Markets
Frederico Pedreira, Avianca’s CEO, emphasized the significance of this expansion. “Our new Dallas–Bogotá route reinforces our commitment to connecting Colombia with key U.S. markets,” he said.
“This growth not only provides more travel choices but also solidifies Avianca’s position as a top airline in the region.”

The addition of this route aligns with the airline’s mission to facilitate seamless travel for both leisure and business passengers.
Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, celebrated the launch as a milestone for U.S.-Colombia relations. “This direct flight strengthens Colombia’s appeal as a premier destination for tourism, business, and investment,” she stated.
“At ProColombia, we’re thrilled to support Avianca’s efforts to enhance global connectivity, showcasing Colombia as the country of beauty.” The route is expected to boost cultural and economic exchanges between the two nations.
Andrés Fernando Diez Martínez, Consul of Colombia in Dallas, supported the endeavor. “This new connection is a vital step in deepening the dynamic relationship between Colombia and the United States,” he noted.
“It will encourage more travelers, entrepreneurs, and opportunities to flow in both directions, highlighting the growing importance of bilateral tourism and trade.”

Expanded U.S.-Colombia Network
Avianca’s expanded U.S.-Colombia network for June 2025 includes a number of direct routes. These notably include Barranquilla–Miami, Bogotá–Boston, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Washington, New York, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, and Tampa.
The airline also provides further connections from Cali, Cartagena, Medellín, and Pereira to various U.S. cities.
With over 105 years of operation since its founding in 1919, Avianca remains a cornerstone of Latin American aviation.
As a Star Alliance member, it operates 150 routes with over 700 daily flights. It boasts a modern fleet of 140 Airbus A320 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, serving more than 75 destinations across 25+ countries.
In 2024, the airline carried nearly 38 million passengers and operated over 258,000 flights, reinforcing its role as a leader in the region.
