Gulfstream’s latest flagship aircraft, the G800, has officially received certification from both the FAA and EASA, clearing the way for deliveries to U.S. and European clients. The long-anticipated jet now holds the title of the world’s longest-range business aircraft — and it’s entering service with better performance than originally projected.
The G800 can fly 8,200 nautical miles at a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85 — 200 nm more than Gulfstream had initially announced. That’s enough to fly nonstop between Los Angeles and Singapore or New York and Cape Town. Even at a higher cruise speed of Mach 0.90, the aircraft still delivers an impressive 7,000 nm range.
For global jet charterers, particularly those flying intercontinental routes with limited layovers, this marks a significant leap forward.
A Technical and Operational Upgrade

The G800’s updated specs reflect more than just an incremental improvement. Its maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935 places it among the fastest business jets available, while revised takeoff and landing distances—5,812 ft and 3,105 ft respectively—expand its access to a wider range of airports, including those with more restrictive runway lengths.
The certification also confirms what Gulfstream has long positioned as key differentiators: improved fuel efficiency through the Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines and a next-generation aerodynamic wing design.
These enhancements combine speed, range, and efficiency in a way that aligns with evolving client expectations — particularly those looking for high-performance aircraft that can handle nonstop global routes.
Designed for Distance and Comfort

The G800’s interior hasn’t been overlooked. While aesthetics and customisation remain a hallmark of Gulfstream’s brand, the certified model offers practical upgrades too: a low cabin altitude of 2,840 ft at cruising levels, 100% fresh air, and a plasma ionization purification system.
The jet can be configured with up to four living zones, or three plus a dedicated crew rest area, catering to extended flights and longer onboard hours.
What It Means for Charter Clients
With certification secured, deliveries are expected to begin shortly – and Victor members may start seeing the G800 enter the charter market soon after.
For long-range flyers who value time savings, nonstop capability, and a quieter, more comfortable ride, the G800 will be a jet to watch closely. As the private aviation sector continues to prioritise performance and operational flexibility, the G800’s certification could mark the beginning of a new benchmark in ultra-long-range charter.
